When Logan was going through treatment like many kids there was not much that made them happy. My husband and I would ask Logan many times what we can do to help. We hated watching how upset he would be. While we were in for Treatment his Social Worker came to us and told us about the Children’s Dream Fund which is like Make A Wish but local to Florida. We would ask Logan what he would like. Logan being the loving child he would keep asking us his Parents what we would want. We told Logan his Dream is not about us, it’s about what he wants. Logan was an Avid Gamer and he loved playing online with his friends. He mentioned maybe I should get a gaming computer. Logan’s computer dream came true in January 2022. That computer was a very Happy day to Logan. He once told us that in the online world he was not sick or have cancer, he said he could just be himself, a normal healthy kid unlike here in the real world he was sick. That Computer was something that Logan Cherished. The Children’s Dream Fund made that a possibility.

Logan's Treatment: The Search for Moments of Happiness
Cancer treatment for children like Logan is a grueling ordeal that often strips away the simple joys of childhood. Days filled with hospital visits, chemotherapy sessions, and physical discomfort left Logan feeling upset and isolated. As his parents, we felt helpless watching our son endure such pain, constantly asking him what we could do to bring a smile to his face. It was heartbreaking to see how the disease and its treatments overshadowed his spirit, especially as he grew older and became more aware of his limitations.
Many kids in similar situations struggle to find happiness amid the exhaustion and fear. For teens and young adults, this can be even more pronounced, as they yearn for normalcy—hanging out with friends, pursuing hobbies, or just escaping the reality of illness.
Discovering the Children's Dream Fund: A Ray of Hope
During one of Logan's treatment sessions, a compassionate social worker introduced us to the Children's Dream Fund, a Florida-based organization similar to Make-A-Wish but focused on local families. This fund grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses, aiming to create magical moments that provide emotional relief and lasting memories.
Logan received his Dream from the Children’s Dream Fund back in January 2022, his first thought was to asked us what did we want to do !! I stopped him right there and told him that this his dream and he can be the only one to make that decision. I told him to think about two things: does he want a trip or experiences to make memories with or does he want something that he could enjoy each and every day but ultimately it was his choice only. Logan decided on super gaming computer system with not only one but wanted three monitors as well as multiple add ons’ like , keyboards, mouse, media center, microphone & head set.
The Gaming Computer: A Gateway to Normalcy
In January 2022, Logan's wish was granted—a high-powered gaming computer that transformed his days. The excitement on his face that day was priceless; it was one of the happiest we'd seen him. This wasn't just a gadget; it was a cherished escape. Logan shared with us how, in the online realm, he wasn't defined by his illness. He could be a "normal, healthy kid"—competing, laughing, and adventuring without the reminders of hospital beds or side effects.
Gaming provided Logan with a sense of community and control during a time when so much felt out of his hands. It allowed him to maintain friendships, explore new worlds, and reclaim pieces of his identity that cancer had tried to take away. The Children's Dream Fund made this possible, turning a simple wish into a profound source of joy.
